Mia Melloway-Dirickx '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi coaches, 

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and look at me as an option for your school. My goal when I go to college is to play volleyball and get my PhD in Veterinary Medicine and I would also like to try and get a degree in business so I can hopefully open up my own hospital and animal rescue center. I believe that I could be a good candidate for your team because I am determined and a very open-minded  learner and athlete. I am willing to learn new skills and improve on my skills as a setter with your help. I love setting, I didn't really at first because I felt like I was being put in the center of attention and that if I messed up then I would ruin the whole play. Eventually I continued to play and got better at being a setter and realized that all I was really doing was helping the play along and if I messed up its okay because I had a whole team to back me up. That is what I love. I believe I am different from the other recruits because I am a unique person. I am spunky, outgoing, a great learner, I have a positive attitude, I focus on my sports and work hard to make impossible goals possible, I work hard in the classroom to keep my grades up and focus on reaching the goals I have set academically.
