Julia Trento '18 Recruiting Profile

Being the youngest of three, born into a house of athletes, with a mom for a teacher and a dad as a coach, I have never known any different than to work hard in the classroom and on the court. I have been around sports my whole life. I have learned what being “coachable” means and I know how to put the team first. This home environment greatly influenced me as an athlete and a student.

I started playing volleyball 5 years ago and until recently was a two sport performer. I have learned many valuable skills as a student athlete especially, time management. Because of this I am confident that I will excel in the collegiate environment.

Academically, I have always been at the top of my class and maintain a 4.15 GPA at a highly competitive college-prep high school. I challenge myself with honor and AP classes.  Balancing athletics and school work has become second nature to me. I want to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Education or Business and also plan to pursue a graduate degree.

As an athlete, I think I am different in many areas. One is that I am very coachable. First one to practice, last one to leave! I always have a positive attitude and am very dependable. I’m trusted by my coaches, and have been an 8-time captain.

Athletically, I think the best way to classify me is “consistent”. I’m also mentally tough, and do not make many mistakes. I have great anticipation and can read the game well. As an ex-outside hitter, I understand the game from many viewpoints.
