Jovie Navarro '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Jovie Navarro and I am a class of 2025 Setter. I am going into my 11th grade year at Firebaugh High School in Lynwood, CA. I have a 3.5 GPA and I am on track to graduate with the A-G requirements. I have played volleyball since the 6th grade. When I played my first game, I automatically fell in love with the sport. Although COVID-19 came up and everyone was at home, I would be outside and just play with a ball for hours and hours each day either on the wall or with the help if my dad. I attend setting clinics and get extra setting reps at home to help me be more of a consistent setter. I’d like to say I’m a very coachable player. Whenever a coach gives me feedback, I immediately put it into my play. Every practice, no matter if we’re playing over the net or conditioning, I always strive to be the best player I can be for not only myself, but for my teammates. I constantly ask my hitters for feedback to make sure they’re getting the set they want. Multiple coaches have told me that I bring a very positive energy on the court, not only during a game but at practice as well. You practice how you play, right? I’m very extroverted so I find it very easy to connect with new players and build up our team chemistry. My goal is to continue to play the sport I love through college. I’m interested in studying: Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, and Film/Video, Photographic Arts.
