My name is Sofia Zazueta and I am a graduate with the class of 2022 at Orange Lutheran High School, in Orange, California. I have played indoor and beach volleyball since the age of 12 at both the club and school level. In High School, I have played on the Varsity team since my Freshman year, primarily as an outside hitter, but also as an opposite hitter and back row passer. During the summer of 2019 I suffered an ACL, MCL, and Meniscus tear at a club tournament that required surgery and approximately 1 year of recovery. Despite this setback, I came back stronger than before and helped lead my high school’s varsity team to the number one spot in the Trinity League for the 2021-2022 school year. I believe that the strength of a team lies not in the individual skills of a single player, but on the willingness to put each individual skill set to support each other. At the club level, I have been to the Girls Junior National Championships in 2018, 2019, and recently helped my team secure a bid for 2021. Academically, I am a dedicated student with a 4.2 GPA and aspirations to one day work in the medical field. Thank you for your consideration, and I hope to form a lasting relationship with you and your program.
