Personal Statement

There is nothing like a chilly October in the Bay Area, spending your afternoon in the playground all by yourself while all your friends are at volleyball practice. I remember watching them play at recess and lunch, not understanding what was so special about the sport, nor why they enjoyed playing so much. That was until I picked up a volleyball for the first time, and instantaneously fell in love. The following school year I joined the girls school volleyball team and my whole life was then consumed by the sport. Since then, I have been playing for a total of 5 years. I am 5 feet and 4 inches tall, and my position has varied from team-to-team, as I am a very versatile player.  Libero and defensive specialist have been the two positions I seem to gravitate more towards. Volleyball has grown to be more than a hobby or time-filler. It is now a passion that I hope to someday pursue professionally in some capacity and I strongly believe with my dedication to the sport, my goals are very well in reach.

My goal is to play college volleyball for a college or university that aligns with my own personal views and can foster my growth as an athlete and a student.  Although the competition is tough, I believe I have many qualities that set me apart from the others. I am known to be a critical thinker, and I am up for the challenge to tackle any and every obstacle that comes my way.  I am dedicated,  compassionate and understanding. Apart from mental capabilities, I have the heartfelt passion and dedication to the sport, which makes me a great asset to any team. In addition to the statements previously made, I can further argue that my academic proficiency is at a high standard. Education has always been my number one priority since I was in elementary school, and I have grown to love learning and its process. These qualities make me a coachable player, as I follow directions well, and am willing to try new things.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
