Valerie Moreno '15 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I'm 5'8" and a left handed Opposite. Don't let my size fool you, I regularly get my elbows level with the tape when blocking.  When hitting, I am able to get through the block by utilizing my left-handedness, strength, quickness and smart ball placement. My strengths come from having a solid volleyball IQ from having played up and down the west coast, encountering different volleyball styles, and incorporating what works well into my game. I have great placement and a huge swing. My agility allows me to save a lot of balls and nothing is more satisfying than saving a play! I love to jump serve when I get the opportunity and sometimes I even set. Whatever it takes to move the team forward, I am willing to do. 

I have played club consistently for the last 6 years and am looking forward to continuing to play both Varsity, Club and into college!

Personally, I have overcome the odds to excel both athletically and academically and hope to someday live and work in Europe.
