Growing up volleyball was always so intriguing to me, I knew that if I were to get a chance to play I would never look back, but I wasn't fortunate enough to get to play in clubs, leagues, etc. I impatiently waited for the day I got to tryout for my high school team, and just being in the environment I knew this was my sport, and that hasn't changed ever since. The love I have for this sport has changed my mindset 100% and made me physically and mentally stronger. I am willing to do whatever I have to do to get the future I want in the sport, which is taking it to the college level and beyond. I am the varsity captain of my schools volleyball team all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA in my academics and a job. It shows in all my work throughout my life that when I put my mind to something, when I have a goal, I have no trouble putting the time and my best effort to execute and get there. Volleyball is the thing in my life I am willing to do anything for, any opportunity to get in extra work, I'm there, anything that has to do with the sport, I'm there. Not only is athleticism in the sport important to me but team chemistry and bonds with my teammates is just as, if not more important to me. Being a person my teammates feel they can confide it, and feel comfortable around, and having a positive presence on the court is a key factor in success as a team which I acknowledge. Not having many recourses growing up caused me to work 10x harder when it comes to volleyball, especially with the goals I have, and that hard work will not stop until I get to where I want to be. Even then, that hard work will become harder work.
