My name is Brooke Wheeler, a 5'9 setter from San Diego, CA. I have been playing competitive club volleyball since I was 12 and love this game.
This club season (2012) I will be playing my 3rd year at San Diego VBC as the setter on an 18s team. Currently I am a Junior at Mira Mesa High School where I have been the starting Varsity setter both Sophomore and Junior years. This past season my coach (Ann Boyer-Schirman) selected me to be the Co-Captain and I enjoyed the added responsibility of leadership on and off the court. I have been fortunate to have some outstanding coaches who have helped me develop as a player and a person. Many of my coaches have been All American Volleyball players and their insight to the collegiate level has been invaluable.
I am a disciplined student with a 4.0 GPA (Junior) and 3.7 Cumulative. I look forward to continuing my academics in college and will continue to work diligently on my studies to get there. Playing at the collegiate level has been a dream of mine for over 4 years and while I haven't selected a major yet, I am looking for a school with both a respected academic and volleyball program. I am keeping the options open related to school size, location and division play, but do desire a competitive level that will continue to stretch and challenge. I can hardly wait to begin the process!
