My first year of playing club volleyball was definitely the source of my love and passion for the sport. For the past 3 years, I would see other girls with tags on their backpacks from all these different tournaments around the country and I would always be so jealous that I couldn't go to them. I believe that seeing those reminders at every tournament gave me just a little motivation to work hard and play harder. By forming that motivation independently I have grown far more than I could've imagined even a year ago. My 2020-2021 season really set me up for success by moving clubs, having a different home with teammates who made me who I am today. With this team, I got to try new positions, feel like I actually belong on a team, and go to two Jr. National Qualifiers in both Reno, NV and Las Vegas, NV. It was a great experience and one that I have waiting for for so long. Unfortunately, we did not get a bid to Nationals and because of that, I have even more fire, motivation, and dedication inside to get there.
This upcoming season I have worked hard enough to earn my spot on the top team in the club and I am beyond excited for what this year holds for me. Going to different camps at different colleges this summer has opened a new world for me and now I am full speed ahead with no end in sight. Just from one week of camps, I have been taught and learned so much that I have already applied to the game and have new skills that I am working on improving. My serving and serve/receive passing are just two of the major parts of volleyball I have gotten better at in a very short amount of time. I believe that team chemistry is the grease the gears and through realizing that, I am also not afraid to be supportive, loud, and encouraging in order to keep my team engaged and positive no matter the situation we face.
Staying dedicated to working hard and progressing my volleyball skills on and off the court will make me a great fit for every team no matter what.
