Haley Higgins '20 Recruiting Profile

I am a strong and confident athlete.  I earned a blackbelt in Taekwondo and am active in many ocean sports.  I have been playing Volleyball both inside and Beach for the last 5 years.  My confidence and inteligence has helped me to learn the game and perform at a higher level.  I have been a starting player and play most all the sets in both School and Club teams.  I have had to work extra hard as a 5'6/5'7 player and am most proud of my smart ball placement and good ball handling.  In my three years of High School Varsity we have made if to CIF playoffs each year.  As a Freshman (St Bonaventure) we made it to the semi finals, Sophmore (Foothill Tech) in Quarter Finals, and as a Junior (Foothill Tech) we made it to both the CIF Southern Section Finals and CIF State Championships.  Unfortunately, we were runners up in both but the competition level was extremely challenging and helped me become more confident player.

I am finishing up the Club season and have been exposed to really strong competition from tournaments in Las Vegas, Atlanta, & Nationals.   I look forward to my Senior year as I feel everything coming together.  While my primary position has been outside hitter I have played all positions and feel very comfortable as a defensive specialist.  I would expect because of my height that I would not be considered for Outside Hitter for most universities so I am focusing on strengthening my back row hitting.

Playing Volleyball has been a really fun experience and I would love to continue playing in College.  I am looking towards either pre-med or a path to become a Physicians Assistant or Nurse Practicioner.   I am also exploring Nursing programs and Sports Medicine.
