My name is Delaney Vega and I have been playing club volleyball for almost six seasons now along with three beach seasons. I got an early start to club as I began when I was in the 6th grade on a small 12's team at Industry VBC. From there, I was able to play two seasons on an Elite 16 travel team, then made a move to LAVA West where I am playing my fourth season on a 16 level team. In the past and current season, my club team has competed at the Division 1 and Division 2 level in the region, as well as USA Division for travel tournaments. I am now playing a Libero/ Defensive Specialist position, but am trained as a setter, outside, and opposite as well. I have proven to be a key player because I am capable of playing every position at a high level. I have also competed in three seasons of High School Volleyball at Chatsworth Charter High School. I was a starting Varsity Setter beginning my freshman year and continued with that position through my current sophomore year. We were able to compete at a very high level during my freshman season as we won the LA-City Section Division 1 Championship with ease in three sets. For both seasons, I have been in the All-City Selection 1st team as well as achieving MVP and All Tournament Selection for multiple tournaments. After season, I transferred to Louisville High School where I was welcomed to the varsity team immediately. I will be finishing off the rest of my high school career on the Louisville team for indoor and beach.
I have been a captain for every team I have ever played on because of my great communication skills, wide experience, leadership, trustworthiness, commitment, and immense responsibility. I was also able to compete in three summers of Beach Volleyball where I had personal training and played both 16's, Women's A, and Women's B divisions. Alongside this, I have maintained at least a 3.6 and above every semester all while taking Advanced Placement and Honors Classes. I continue to also take part in extra curricular activities including singing in a Worship Band and playing multiple instruments. I plan to play club, high school, and beach seasons all the way until I complete my Senior year. I hope to play at a high level in college no matter what position I am placed or compete for.
