Academics have and always will be my primary focus. However, this does not deter my love for volleyball. Volleyball allows me to express myself in a way I am unable to within the classroom. My mother played volleyball as a teenager as well as other sports. She was the one who pushed me to try multitudes of sports until I fell in love with one. Volleyball is my second coping mechanism next to reading. Playing volleyball makes me happy and proud of myself along with my teammates. Volleyball is fun to watch but even more fun to play.
I aspire to become a marine biologist with an undergrad in veterinary nursing. I have had a love of animals for almost as long as I can remember; only my interest in marine animals first started in 2nd grade on our first field trip to the Denver Aquarium. Since then, I have had my heart set on this particular career field and I will not allow anyone to deter me.
