Hi my name is Jimmi Lynn,
I am currently a college sophomore at Northern Vermont University- Johnson, located in Johnson, Vermont; I am currently majoring in History with a minor in Pre-law. I have been playing volleyball since I was 8 years old. Throughout my athletic career, I have had much success; in high school I was a varsity volleyball player for both my junior and senior year, I was #8 in the state of Colorado for the Tri-Peaks league conference. And at my current university I am a DS/ OH/ L. As a sophomore I was offered a captain's position at NVU-J and have dedicated myself to being the hardest worker in the room as well as being the best teammate as well. I have played in many national qualifying tournaments, as well as an international tournament in Australia. My summers are currently committed to playing as much volleyball as I can all over Colorado; winter breaks are dedicated to being in the gym to improve my skills and becoming both stronger mentally and physically.
When asked what I value the most in volleyball , my answer is always what I can do for the team? As well as, what is best for the team ? Whether it be always supporting my teammates both on and off the court or pushing them to be better athletes in the gym. I have always looked at all of the teams that I have played on as a family. What sets me aside from other recruits is that , while volleyball is important in my life, school is and has always been important to me. My freshman year of college, I earned a 3.8 GPA and made the President's List at the college I currently attend and throughout high school I had made Honor Roll 5 times; along with graduating #12 in my class. I hold school to such a high standard due to the fact that I have hopes on becoming a lawyer once college is finished. Aside from school, I am also a natural leader, as a DS/L it is important for us to take control of the back row and keep the energy high while the game is going. I love making people laugh and stay motivated to win during game time and stay focused during practice. It releases some of the self tension on the court, along with brings the team together, especially during the times where the team is behind or the tempo is slow. To conclude, I feel as though that I am a good fit for your team due to the fact that I am a coachable athlete, and I am also a hard worker, there is never a moment that I don't want to learn or find different ways to improve my skills. My aspirations are to help improve a program and help unite teams, as well as bring teams to national tournaments as well as win a few conferences.
Thank You,
J.L
