Hi my name is Nyaejah Jones and go to Achievement First Amistad High School. Before I played on the volleyball team I didn’t know what I wanted to do in life. When I tried out and made it I was surprised because I had never played before. Playing volleyball opened up my eyes and gave me a purpose to keep pushing in high school. During this time I also accomplished earning student representative for my school in 9th grade. I come from an area where people don’t usually succeed or make it anywhere and sometimes don’t finish high school. My academics have not always been the best they could be because that part of school wasn’t always for me. When I started volleyball I realized I loved it and I never wanted to stop. I became passionate with this sport and never wanted to stop playing. After hours long of practice I still wasn’t ready to go home. As a person I believe I am head strong, and hard working. I never give up on anything and I always finish what I start. Volleyball has changed me as a person. Before volleyball I was a shy and low self esteemed girl entering high school. Volleyball helped me gain confidence that led me to be able to stick up for myself and try new things that helped me become a better person. Therefor I believe you should be interested in me because I will not disappoint.
