As a student-athlete, I would like to provide myself the chance for a challenge. I have grown up in a town where I have not faced much adversity. The volleyball program within the school I currently attend has never pushed me to my full ability. I hope that as I transfer high schools within these next two years, I am able to face the adversity and challenges I have not yet seen. I would be a good candidate for a college team because I work great with others and I truly do see/understand the court. During my club volleyball season, my teammates look to me and I am able to help guide them to score some smarter plays. I am different from other recruits because I am a reliable teammate on and off the court. No matter the team we face on the other side of the net, I am always ready for the next point, but also willing to take criticism to fix my last mistake. I put a lot of effort into my school work and am always willing to sign up for more challenging classes to push myself mentally. As I have transferred into Woodstock Academy, I began the season sitting out of the first 10 games due to CIAC rules. After those 10 games, I became a starter and was hardly taken off the court. Even though I would make mistakes, I always kept my head up and was ready for the next play. There are always two types of people on the court, energy takers and energy givers. My teammates always looked to me no matter how down we were because I am an energy giver and I am always willing to take any risk to prove myself.
