I am super fascinated with the way societies and cultures have developed over time as well as human biological and physiological characteristics and their development. Due to my extreme interest, I aspire to study either physical and/or cultural anthropology or criminology for my post-secondary education. Following, I ideally would like to pursue a doctorate, as I believe teaching at a university and/or college would be a great profession.
I believe I am a good candidate for any college team as I can bring perseverance and spirit to the team. When my current club team and my high school team have trouble getting out of serve receive, my teammates can always count on me to be one of the loudest (if not the loudest) on the court. In addition to this, I pride myself on taking initiative and always wanting to run different plays, as well as learn more.
I stand out from other recruits in character. I may not have the height as some 2021 middles, however I am always able to look on the bright side when faced with someone taller, and perhaps even better than I. My parents and past coaches have taught me to be willful and to not dwell on past plays, making myself a good player to have on any team.
I stand out from other recruits in athletic ability as well as character. I have played sports all of my life, including soccer and track and field, giving myself a leg up as I have built up stamina. I believe that it is really important to play more than one sport due to the fact that one sport can increase one's athleticism and muscle development in another. Plus, it's always fun to stay active, learn new skills, and play with new people.
I believe I also stand out from other recruits in academics. I have a 4.77 on a 5.0 scale and have attended an International Baccalaureate school since 6th grade in our nation's capital. I put 100% effort into my work assignments and I can reflect on my inadequacies with others.
I am looking forward to playing volleyball on the collegiate level, and I am extremely excited to see where the future takes me!
