When I am on the court with my teammates, waiting for that first ball to come over the net, nothing else matters in that moment. People ask why I play volleyball, I don't believe I just play volleyball, I believe being a volleyball player is part of who I am. Success on the court gives me confidence, focus and determination in the classroom. For the past 6 years, I have found playing has given me the skills in life that help make me who I am, goal driven and always working on improving my skills. This helps me be receptive to different coaching styles between high school and club, therefore in college; allows me to be a better, stronger teammate and learner. My goal is to study Marine Biology while continuing to play volleyball. I see in my future, studying the ocean and the life that lives in it, while having as well as being part of the support system and camaraderie of a volleyball team!
