I am so thankful to have been given such amazing opportunities in volleyball, especially this year in such a difficult time. Our team was so fortunate to win the Northern Lights Qualifier in Omaha, Nebraska in January, securing a bid to nationals. We also plan on competing at 2021 AAU nationals in Orlando. We are so excited to be competing at Nationals in Las Vegas!! Although we have had challenges this season, and have had to drop some tournaments due to COVID, I’m so thankful to be able to participate in these two tournaments.
I learned to play volleyball when I was 10 years old in a camp at our local youth center. From the moment I started I loved it. Even when I was a beginner and was still pretty new to the game, I never felt bad about my level of play. I just knew that I had to get better, and I knew that I would with practice. Quitting was never an option and I cannot imagine my life without the sport that I love. These are some of the things that make me an asset on any team. I don't quit, I just keep trying.
Another reason why I would be a good candidate for a college team is that I am very competitive. I work to win. I train to win. If winning isn't in the cards that day, I figure out how to make up for the loss and look ahead to the next game. These are some of the things that I love so much about the sport; there is always another ball coming, and another opportunity to win!
I am looking forward to going to college. Although I still have not decided exactly what I would like to study, I am interested in health sciences (nursing) or sports training. I would love being in the sports field when I finish, so completing a degree to help me do that would be great.
