The first time I picked up a volleyball, I fell in love with the sport. Over the last 6 years I have worked hard at trying to become the best player I can. Everyday I work hard to improve my skills to one day fulfill my dream of playing collegiate volleyball.
I am separate from the rest of the people on the court as I bring fun, passion, and lots of energy to every single game and practice. I constantly make sure to cheer on my teammates and to maintain a positive attitude and energy that transfers to the rest of the players. I know that I am able to change the teams dynamic back to a state of energy even if we are in a downward hole or slump. This correlates to when a teammate of myself are having a bad day, I know to remind us that volleyball is a game of mistakes and therefore to not dwell on a mistake. My coaches love the positive attitude and energy that I bring to the court. Even with all of my energy, I am very focused on the court. Even more important, my work ethic is very strong as I always bring 110% into everything that I do. No matter if it's games, practices, drills, or camps, I always bring my best game. I aspire to be the most dedicated athlete on the court and to always outwork those around me.
I also am a very hard worker when it comes to my academics. I believe in student-athlete and that academics are very important. I am just as dedicated when it comes to my schoolwork as I take the hardest classes that my school offers and maintain very high grades in each. I am a straight-A student who wants to outwork my classmates, just as I want to outwork my teammates on the court. As of right now, I have a 4.6 weighted GPA and a 4.0 GPA which leaves me in the top 7% of my class. Along with my classes, I participate in science fair (regional & state), Tri-M Music Honor Society, National Society of Highschool Scholars, HOBY Youth Leadership, National Honor Society, and school leadership roles like Student Ambassador. These have made me a better leader on and off of the court. These have also given me many community service opportunities over the years.
When looking at Universities and Colleges, I want to find a school that not only challenges me athletically but academically as well. I want to find a school that will boost my potential as a student-athlete. Thank you for your very valuable.
