Hi Coach,
My name is Sofia Ibarra, class of 2024 at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart in Miami, FL. I am a 6-rotation player OH/DS for my High School, my Club Team, Tribe Elite Navy, and for Federacion Nacional de Voleibol de Guatemala, Guatemala Women's National Volleyball Team, (as I have a triple nationality, USA, Sweden and Guatemala)
In May 2023 I competed in Nogales, Mexico playing the U21 Women NORCECA Pan American Cup. So far its been a great experience playing against the USA, Dominican Republic and Costa Rica. It was such an amazing experience. Hard competitions, amazing ambiance, fun and challenging times.
June 21 I am heading to play AAU in Orlando with my Florida club team, Tribe. I hope you have a chance to check me out. Would love to meet and say hello!
My junior (22/23) year I was awarded MVP by my Varsity Coach for 2023, and last year I was mentioned in the Miami Herald 3 times, as a player to look out for and made second team in Miami Dade and recently an article was published about me "Carrollton's Ibarra leads Guatemala volleyball team to title". Additionally, 6'0 and touching 10' for my approach and block jump . I currently also have a standing reach of 9'5.
On and off the court, I am a reliable and trustworthy player and friend. I love playing and training volleyball, making new friends on and off court. When I am not training with my team, I train Pilates and conditioning training a couple of days of the week at my gym. My friends describe me as a happy person with a ton of energy -
I am an American Swedish Latina in Miami!!!!
