Jana Martin '22 Recruiting Profile

    My name is Jana Martin and I am a Libero/Defensive Specialist for Mount Dora High School and Top Select Volleyball Academy.  I have been playing highly competitive volleyball since I was 11 years old. I made the varsity volleyball team all three years and have been a starter every season. I have been named Team Captain, for the 2020 season, which I take great pride in. I was awarded the Coach's Champion of Character Award for the 2018 high school volleyball season.  I will be posting video of me playing both positions to show you that I am comfortable playing both.

    During my club volleyball seasons, I have been a part of some great teams and have worked with fantastic coaches at Top Select Volleyball Academy. I have been fortunate to play in very competitive tournaments such as The Big South Qualifier, Disney Qualifier, Florida Regional Qualifier and the Tampa Gasparilla Kickoff just to name of few. 

    I am dedicated to my academics just as I am dedicated to volleyball. I currently hold a 3.74 GPA (4.29 WGPA) while taking Honors English and Honors Geometry along with my other core classes. I understand that academic accomplishments are just as important as my accomplishments on the court and I am diligent in my studies to ensure that no coach will ever have to worry about me slacking in this area.

    I am driven and determined to achieve my long term goal of playing collegiate volleyball.  In order to do so I have set many short term goals for myself that will be instrumental in achieving my long term goal of playing volleyball collegiately.  I train 6 days a week trying to get better a little more every day and keeping my body in great physical condition.  If given the chance to show you you will see my work ethic, positive attitude, competitiveness and leadership qualities that I possess.
