Emily Holton '21 Recruiting Profile

I’m a driven, hard working student athlete in the class of 2021. I have played club volleyball for Orlando Tampa Volleyball Academy(OTVA) the past 3 seasons and I have 4 total years of club experience. During my 4 seasons of club I have played every position with the exception of setter. This past season my teammates and I won multiple tournaments and qualified for the Junior Olympics in Detroit, MI. As a freshman at University High School in Orlando, Fl I made the varsity team where I started at both defensive specialist and outside hitter. At 5'6(125lbs.), my desire is to be a Libero/DS at the highest level possible but I am a very versatile player that moves around to help the team achieve its goals. Whether it is as a starter or coming off the bench I bring an equal amount of energy, hard work and an uplifting attitude to the court and my teammates.

In the classroom I carry an overall 3.4 GPA with all my core classes being Honors. My goal is to be as successful off the court as I am on the court. I would love to continue my student athlete career at the highest possible level. I would also like to attend college in the southeast but for the right opportunity and family atmosphere I would be willing to travel farther outside of this area. My life after volleyball is very important to me so the college I choose will need to be one that helps me prepare for that part of life and gives me the best opportunity to succeed.

Ideally, I would like to come in and contribute to the team and help them win as early as possible but I understand that sometimes this is very hard for a freshman. I am a team player that is up to the hard work and dedication it takes to earn playing time.  My parents have taught me that respect is not given, it is earned.  I am ready to earn the respect of my coaches and teammates.
