My love for volleyball began at the YMCA in my hometown of Stuart, Florida. I was eight years old when I signed up for my first session of volleyball there. The minute I stepped on that court, I knew that volleyball was MY sport. A few months later, I attended my first club tryout, and I’ve been playing competitive volleyball ever since.
I am a six rotation, starter on both my high school varsity team and club team this season. Playing all the way around makes me an extremely well-rounded player by allowing me to use my skills to attack, defend, and pass. Playing six rotations has also allowed me to strengthen my court awareness, as well as, gain an appreciation for all the positions and their responsibilities on the court. I am very coachable. I know that the fantastic game of volleyball is something I will never totally master. It’s a sport in which I will continue to learn and grow. My love for volleyball will continue to fuel my effort and attitude on the court at every practice, game, and tournament.
As I begin my junior year of high school, I aim to continue to challenge myself academically and athletically. Playing on both my school team and a club team requires me to train 5 to 6 times a week has given me the discipline and determination to successfully manage my time between sports and academics. I am an Honor Student with a 4.0/5.7 GPA. I am currently enrolled in the Medical Academy at my high school along with being dual enrolled at Indian River State College. I was also recently accepted to the Student-Athlete Leadership Team at my high school. I was also recognized as an AAU Academic All-American this past season.
As I explore academic and athletic options for my future, I hope to find a program that can highlight and enhance all of my abilities both on and off the court. I’m interested in finding a school that offers a combination of academic excellence and competitive volleyball.
