Hello, my name is Jeilin T. Robinson and I’m a senior at Middleton High School, enrolled in the STEM engineering magnet program. I currently live with my family in Tampa, FL and I am the oldest of 3 children.
I have been a part of the STEM community for over 6 years, which ignited my interest in engineering. My involvement in the robotic club and participation in several robotic tournaments furthered my fascination with astronautical engineering. I have taken a passionate interest in astronautical engineering because I love the process of trial and error to create an efficient design for vessels, aircrafts and satellites for deep space explorations. I believe my pursuit and studies in this field of engineering will one day help to increase the discoveries made in space, and benefit others with more knowledge of astronautical engineering. A few of my academic accomplishments consist of placing second in the state of Florida for a VEX IQ Robotics competition, becoming a semi-finalist in the TSA (Technology Student Association) for promotional marketing and I was enrolled for 3 consecutive years in a row for the NYLF Engineering Summer Program at Emory University, Villanova University and Stanford University.
In addition, I have played volleyball for over 5 years, both high school varsity and club, in various roles including a libero, defensive specialist and most recently as an outside hitter. My interest in volleyball sparked when I realized that volleyball has different techniques to be used by people of all shapes and sizes; this game isn’t stagnant and rigid but more fluid and fun! Since I discovered this sport, I enjoy and look forward to the intensity and high-level of competitiveness that each varsity and club season brings. Furthermore, I enjoy the camaraderie, teamwork and “level of grit” that me and my teammates bring into fruition each time we practice and when we participate in our tournaments. Plus I love creating amazing memories with my team and coaches, as well as the opportunity to continually improve my skills.
I have played for a club since I started my volleyball career and I have played in high school for 3 years, going on 4 years. Some of my Athletic accolades are: I was voted in Tampa for Western Conference National Division 1st Team in 2020 in my junior year, 2nd in the state of Florida for aces per set (Junior Class 5A Division), 6th in Florida for # of Aces (All Classes, 5A Division, including captain of my high school varsity team. Finally, my club team and I won 1st place at AAU National Volleyball Championship in 2021 and I was recently voted again in Tampa for Western Conference National Division 2nd Team in 2021.
