I started playing volleyball in 6th grade. I had just started at a new school, and I had decided to stop playing softball. My mom ended up suggesting that I tryout for volleyball. Although I only played during one game that year, I had already fallen in love with the sport. Not only the dynamic, but the community that it created for me.
In 7th grade I began to play club volleyball. In 8th grade I moved to Tsunami and played select. My freshman year I played on the elite level at Tsunami. My season was cut short, and because of the risk of COVID, I decided to try beach volleyball. After having played indoor volleyball for four years, I was immediately surprised at the difficulty that came with playing in the sand. After a while, I began to appreciate how much beach pushed me and made me a better player.
I have been told that I am a very coachable player. I believe this is because I have good listening skills and I am always looking for ways to improve. The court is like a time warp for me, and whenever I am on it, the only thing I am aware of is the ball.
I am extremely interested in studying education in college, but I am still open to finding a field of study that interests me even more. I have frequently thought about playing volleyball in college. I believe playing volleyball in college will provide an additional and rewarding dimension to my college experience.
