Lainey Minor '23 Recruiting Profile

I'm Lainey, a class of 2023 setter/DS/Libero! I can play anywhere on the court, but setter is my primary position. I've been playing since I was a freshman and have been captain all of those years, and of both JV and Varsity teams. I have aspired to play on the collegiate level ever since I fell in love with it at camp in 2019. Volleyball has changed my life and I would love to further my athletic and academic career in college.

I am a super competitive but passionate player. Both on and off the court, I try to encourage my teammates and have a positive attitude towards them and my coaches, because I feel volleyball can be as much a mental game as a physical one. I have a strong jump serve, standing serve, float serve, and spot serve.

Currently, I am a volunteer coach for both the Junior Varsity and Middle school team at HALO. I dual-enroll at Truett McConnel University, and I strive to study hard and maintain a 4.0 GPA. 

I hope to attend a college that pushes me to be my best, on the court and in the classroom. I'm currently undecided about my major, but I am leaning towards Criminal Justice or Criminology! I cannot wait to get my degree and further my career in volleyball!
