I have so many goals and aspirations for my collegiate experience it is very hard to narrow down what I am most excited for. I do know that getting the best education I can possibly receive is the most important thing I will be looking for when selecting my college. My second major goal after academics is definitely making a volleyball roster and playing Setter at the collegiate level. Education and volleyball are my two biggest passions so if I can achieve those two things my college experience will be a success in my eyes, everything else will just be a bonus.
I feel I would be a great asset for any team that will take a chance on me for numerous reasons. Some of the attributes that I can bring to the team that offers me a spot are my discipline, leadership, teamwork, coachability, athleticism, smarts, time management and competitiveness.
Breaking those attributes down a little deeper, my discipline stems from my parents. My Father served over 20-years in the military and was deployed a lot, so my mother and I had to bond together on numerous occasions to man-the-household. We grew closer than ever over these periods and knew the only way to get through those hard times is teamwork and togetherness. Making it though those days with my mom taught me the true definition of teamwork, and I quickly learned that with genuine teamwork you can always finish a winner.
I am coachable, I know I am not perfect and I am always eager to learn to become better at anything and everything I do, so I embrace every coachable moment I encounter. I am a quick learner and have always took my education serious which shows in my high school grades, I play sports, take part in JROTC, Future Farmers of America (FFA) work 20 plus hours a week and still manage to maintain a 4.0 average. By being so active and still able to maintain a 4.0 GPA, a healthy social life, and continue to spend quality family time with my family shows that I am very good at time management. Being a good time manager might be the most important attribute I must possess to have a successful college experience.
Bottom line, I know that there are thousands of kids competing for very few Setter roster spots, but if given the opportunity, I promise I will not fail whoever gives me that chance. I will be grateful and honored to be a part of any team that would have me and I will do everything in my powers to make that coach be proud of his or her decision. Between my work ethic, academics, and will to compete I would love to help a team dominate their conference and try to help win a title.
I look forward to hearing from you and cannot wait to come see your campus.
