My name is Peyton Suggs, and I am a 5'4" Libero/DS for the class of 2022. I have played volleyball for 6 years, and club volleyball for 4 of those years. Being a libero/defensive specialist allows me to impact the team through serving, first contact, and defense. My relentlessness, energy, and dedication to keeping the ball in play enables the team to run an aggressive offense. This along with my leadership skills and accountability permits me to be an encouragement to my team. Throughout my volleyball career I have proved my versatility through playing various positions such as: setter, defensive specialist, libero and outside hitter. In addition to my time on the court, I am dedicated to embracing my role when on the sideline by communicating strategies for those on the court and energizing my team.
I have been a varsity starter for my school team since my freshman year of high school. My sophomore year, I was selected to the State All-Star Team as a libero. Unfortunately due to Covid-19, my school team did not have a season this year. However, this motivated me to seek out opportunities to play for another team within my region, allowing me to secure the opportunity to play as a crossover player. It was an honor to get to participate with their team and play as a libero/defensive specialist starter. We then went on to win second in the region behind the state champions.
Maintaining a 4.0 GPA while juggling the demands of being a high-school student athlete, taking Advanced Placement (AP) and Dual-Enrollment courses, student council, along with other extracurricular activities has taught me the importance of time management and organization. The experience of balancing multiple responsibilities has prepared me for the demands of being a collegiate student-athlete. This, in addition to, maintaining Honor Roll with Headmasters Distinction for over 10 years has equipped me for the rigor of collegiate level academics.
I love to compete and feel my coachability, work ethic, and drive will be an asset to your volleyball program.
