First and foremost I'd love to get a college degree. I feel like that would jump start my career. I'm undecided on a field of study, but these are some of the degrees I'm interested in Sports Nutrition, Dietitian, Child Therapist, and Wildlife Biologist.
Being raised on a farm and ranch in Idaho, I have learned the value of hard work. I've been given many responsibilities on the farm from having to get up every morning in the summer to move hand lines to running equipment till the late hours of the night. When I get home from school in the wintertime, I have the responsibilities of helping to feed cows, and help out at the calving barns during calving season. All of my coaches have told me how hard of a worker I am, and that they really appreciate how they can always count on me. I'm not a complainer, I've learned from my parents if you want something in life you have to work for it. I'm very competitive on the court, I want to win!! I've been told by many of my teammates and coaches how good of a teammate I am, my philosophy is if they are successful then we as a team will be successful.
I've been involved in 4-H since I was 9. I've taken a steer to the fair every year. Taming a steer is a ton of work, I've been drug, thrown into a fence, had my toe stepped on and broken. I've been asked why I do this? The answer is two parts, first at the end of this project I get to sell my steer and that is the money I'm saving to help pay for college. Second, there is satisfaction in taming and taking care of a 1,300 pound steer. One year I got one so tame that I rode it in the show ring!!!
I love volleyball!!! It is my passion. I think I developed this love from my mom. She was a college volleyball player. I love being on a team and going through the ups and downs of the season with my teammates. I've developed such great life long friendships with my teammates and coaches. I would really love to play volleyball at the collegiate level.
