Kristen DeHart '14 Recruiting Profile

As a student I find myself interested in the business field, specifically marketing as a major.  I would like to see a dynamic curriculum with multiple course offerings, as well as professors that I can use to build a professional network of resources.  In addition, I am looking for opportunities to get involved on campus through clubs and student organizations, as well as building lifelong relationships with friends.  In short, I am looking for a good quality education, and most importantly, to fulfill my goal of playing volleyball at the next level.

As an athlete I display leadership both on and off the court, I always give 110% at practice and in games, and most importantly, I know multiple positions (Right & Outside Hitter, Middle Blocker, and Back Row).  I began playing volleyball in 6th grade and have been playing club ball during the off seasons at Illini Elite for the past four years, as well as personal training at Sports Enhancement.  I like to consider myself a bit of a spark plug, in the sense that I bring energy to the team, a positive attitude, and a desire to become better, along with winning as team. I have always done everything that is asked of me, and I am not afraid to ask questions when I do not understand, thus a very coachable athlete.  I also understand the emphasis placed on the term ‘student athlete’ and will not ever fall behind in the classroom.  To sum it all up, I am a hardworking, dependable, and versatile athlete that can get teammates excited that has many years of knowledge and experience playing the sport.
