Having to work my way up to being a starter ever since I began volleyball has definitely changed me for the better as a person, and student athlete. Working from the very bottom to the top really makes you grateful for every second of playing time you receive, and opens up your eyes when you'e not working hard enough. I began playing volleyball in sixth grade just because I thought it'd be extremely fun. But, when I was put onto the secondary team, it made me realize I had to work for what I wanted, and not stop until I achieve my goal. Ever since, year after year, practice after practice, I pushed myself to the best of my ability until I was given the spot I dreamt of having on the court. Through these years, the main obstacle I had to overcome was my knee. To fix it, I signed up for physical therapy for months until it was as perfect as it was before I started playing volleyball and running track.
In regards to academics, I strive to stay above a 4.0 GPA throughout my high school as well as my college career. To do so, I will have to continue to be the determined person I am, and manage my time effectively and get my work done efficiently and flawlessly, as I've always done. Throughout the rest of my high school career, I'm in search of the perfect school to attend that fits my academic and athletic criteria perfectly. I not only have the determination, and drive to get tasks done effectively and efficiently, but I also possess the character, attitude, and sportsmanship needed and looked for at the college level.
