Being nominated as team captain has been one of the most encouraging and empowering moments of my student-athlete career. One of the moments that has made me grow the most as a person as well as an athlete was ACL surgery and recovery. It taught me many aspects of patience and determination that have greatly benefitted my personality and outlook on becoming a long term athlete. Joining club volleyball at a young age has also influenced my confidence and team work skills by having the opportunity to play with athletes that are older and inspiring to me. At thirteen years old, my club team and I were given the chance to play within the 16-U bracket, and we ended up taking first place. Those opportunities alone have been very awarding and beneficial to my character as a student-athlete. I have learned how to preserver through hard times, that I am a leader, and that I am determined to continue with my career as an athlete. Off of the court, my grades are one of the most important aspects to myself and my career. I expect to obtain high honors throughout high school and college, as well as to keep my grades a top priority to myself and my future.
