My name is Jobi Smith. I am a junior at Monticello High School in Monticello, Illinois. I began playing volleyball as a 7th grader. I fell in love with the sport and have played it ever since. I am interested in continuing my volleyball career in college with academic goals of getting a nursing degree. In the past, I have primarily played as an all around outside hitter. I have also had experience as a right side and defensive specialist where I earned Defensive Player of the Year for my highschool team last year. Several qualities that I feel set me apart from other players would be my work ethic, coachability, and leadership skills. No matter if it is on the volleyball court or in the classroom I always give my best effort in everything I do. I take pride in working hard and never giving up. I always strive to be a coachable athlete and I recognize and respect my coaches and their knowledge of the game and realize that if it weren't for the coaching that I have received over the years, I would not be the athlete I am today. I also enjoy playing on and being a part of a team. I enjoy leading by example and hope to inspire my other teammates to try their best too!
