Sarah Jacobsen '20 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to play volleyball at as high of competitive level as I can in college while furthering my education.  My education is very important to me and is a primary factor in my college pursuits.  It has been my dream to attend a college with high academic standards, while also playing with an exceptional volleyball program.

Outside of volleyball I have competed in many sports growing up.  I have participated in track, basketball, soccer, and softball.  Over the years I slowly started concentrating on fewer and fewer sports due to schedule demands.  As my passion for volleyball has grown, I started concentrating on playing both indoor and sand volleyball year-round. I continue to remain active recreationally with other sports.  In junior high I qualified for USA Track and Field’s (USATF) National Championships in high jump, hurdles, and 4x100M relay. 

Physically, I consider myself a late bloomer.  I have grown significantly and become much stronger in high school.  I am currently 5’10”, but hope to pass my Mom soon who played Division I volleyball as well as Division III volleyball and basketball while attending college.  My coaches look to me to be the on-court leader and have described me as having a competitive nature, a strong work ethic, extremely coachable, and an eagerness to learn. These personality traits have been a key factor in both my academic and athletic success.
