I’ve been a member of the Monmouth Scots Volleyball team for 2 years. I very much love Monmouth College and everyone I’ve met. unfortunately, this season did not go as well as I’d hoped. I’m trying to decide if I really want to stay and play another season, transfer to another school, or stop playing altogether. I love volleyball!

My senior volleyball season came to an end. Most of the season I was a DS and served. When our setter hurt her ankle, I filled in for a few matches. THEN, when our main OH was out because of shin splits, I was a hitter. Senior Night was bitter sweet, I was the only senior so the attention was focused on me but I didn’t want the season to be over! I love volleyball and am excited for club to start up!!

I‘m excited for school ball to start. I’ll be the only senior and even though I can play all positions, Coach has said I will mainly be DS because she needs me there. That makes me feel pretty good.
Club tryouts are also this summer. I believe I’ll be the backup setter as well as any other position needed.
My school coach considers me a utility player, she says that she knows that where she needs me I’ll do well to help my teammates.

My school, Roxana Senior High, is now loading matches on to Hudl. Also, we are using nfhs.com.
I love the sport of volleyball!! My favorite part is the being part of a team that works together to achieve the same goal.
It is difficult for me to pick a specific position I play on my teams. I’ve played all spots in the front, as well as setter. I also serve and play all back row. I guess I’m like a utility player, you put me in a spot and I will play my hardest. I have the bruises to prove it.
This has been a rough club season with us having to stop part way through because of the COVID-19 Shelter at Home. I have been working out 1-3 times a day and get touches for an hour or more daily. I miss my team and the game. I really hope that we will be able to have the school summer season.

I am so happy we were able to have try-outs this last weekend!!! Unfortunately, our setter chose to go with another club so I am moving from back-up/emergency setter to full time setter, unless we are able to find one soon! I would rather hit but I've decided to make the best of it and help my team be successful!
