Olivia Gumz '23 Recruiting Profile

HI Coach,

My name is Olivia Gumz and I am from Springfield Illinois.  My family has raised me to understand the importance of  hard work, and a never quit attitude.  I have always strived to translate these values both to the classroom and to the court/field.  My coaches have always referred to me as extremely "coachable" because I listen and learn.  I am not afraid to try new skills and more importantly I do not fall apart when being corrected or put under pressure. 

 I have played volleyball and softball since the age of 8 years old at the school, recreation and club level.  At the end of the 2019 competitive softball season I made the decision to focus my time and effort solely on volleyball when it became clear to me that was the sport I was most passionate about.  I love practicing, and competing with my teammates.  We enjoy each others company both on and off the court!  

My goal is to play volleyball at the collegiate level.  I am open to playing at a school in any region or level that will best fit me. I would like to attend a college that will help me grow as an student and athlete. I am determined to work hard in achieving my goal and am looking for a academic/athletic program that will b a great fit!
