Laila Wallace '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Laila Wallace and I am a Junior at Munster H.S. I am a Starter on the Varsity team. I am a 6’1 Middle Hitter who can also play Right Side or Outside.  My approach jump is 10’2. I can hit, run slides, dynamic swing blocking, great lateral speed, quick tempo attack.

We had a great season this year. Won Conference Championship and Sectional Championship.  Flipped every loss from previous year and went from 101 in state to 10th in State.  During the season, I was named Player of the Match 5x by Max Prep Volleyball and recognized on several occasions by NWI Times as valuable to team's success. I'm looking forward to transferring all improved skills, drive and commitment in to the club volleyball season at Michio Chicago Volleyball. 

Education is important in my family. Both of my parents have advanced degrees and have instilled in me the importance of education and the opportunities it brings. I’m an honor roll student and was recently nominated to be inducted in Future Science and Technology Program.  While I am not certain about a major, I enjoy English and writing. Therefore, I am exploring journalism, specifically broadcast journalism as a college major. I’m interested in colleges that have both strong academic programs and a high level volleyball program.
