My name is Kyla and I am 5'2 and play libero, DS and outside hitter. I have played volleyball for 9 years and have fallen in love with the game. Volleyball has always helped me through everything and takes all of my stresses away and allows me to not think about anything going on in my life besides volleyball. I love to be in the gym as much as I can. I have played varsity so far my freshman, sophomore and junior year and have received all county and all conference every year. I have also received all county and all conference every year for both softball and basketball. I have also hit my 1,000 digs beginning of junior year. I have not yet reached my full potential and I would like to push myself even further.
I would be a great contribution to the team because of many reasons. I have always been a leader to all of the teams I have played on (including basketball and softball) by leading by example and always pushing my teammates and being there for them on and off the court. I have integrity and I am hard working and very passionate. I am encouraging, supportive and I am very coachable. I give 110% effort with everything and never give up and always push my teammates to higher standard than they see themselves. I make sure my teammates are always trying to succeed and always want to push themselves farther and get our team better than the day before . I don't dwell on mistakes but instead take it and learn from it and move on. I want to have an impact on my team in college. Sports has taught me much more than just the athletics but dedication, teamwork, how to be a leader and much more.
My ultimate goal is to continue to play the sport I love at a higher level while earning my college degree. I have a 3.6 GPA. I want to go into nursing and be able to help other families like my own. My little brother was born with heart and kidney issues and has had to have 9 surgeries, two being open heart surgery. I have seen how much the nurses has impacted me and my family by being so kind and caring and helping us through a hard time. I want to be able to help families going though the same thing and have an impact on them.
