My name is Carly Harpold. I am a senior this year at Parke Heritage High School. I've always grown up watching volleyball and I have been playing since elementary school. I am preferably a right side hitter, but I am very versatile and can play wherever I am needed. I constantly push myself to become a better player and teammate, which is why I began playing club volleyball a few years ago for Crossroads of America. I made a national team my first year and I was able to really grow as an athlete and bring the skills I learned back to my high school team the next year. I try to be uplifting on the court and keep my teammates up when they get down. I believe it was my dedication, hard work, and positive attitude that allowed me to become team captain in the 2021 season, which was one of my proudest moments.
I may not be the tallest girl out there, but I work as hard as I can on and off the court, to be the best student-athlete I can be. I pride myself on my academics as I am involved in multiple clubs such as FFA, FCCLA, student council, interact club, 4-H, and National Honors Society, all while maintaining a GPA of 4.256. Besides volleyball, I also participate in track and field in the spring. In college I would like to pursue something in the field of engineering or psychology because of my love of math and science.
