Personal Statement

As I enter my junior year in high school, my love for the sport of volleyball has never been stronger. My life is dedicated to my game, my schooling, my family and my church. I am a very positive person and believe that the game of volleyball is very much a mental game. I continue to have a positive attitude and move on to the next play after an error is made. As the setter for my teams, I consider my leadership style to be very calm and confident! I will get excited for the big play, but not carried away. Likewise, I do not get down or let my teammates hang their heads after a mistake. I am also very passionate about my education, and realize I need to perform as well in the classroom as on the court. I plan to go into a medical field as it will allow me to help others. I believe in getting 1% better every day through hard work! I let my failures today drive me to be a better player tomorrow. My ultimate goal is to play volleyball at the collegiate level. I strive every day to make my dreams come true, on the court, in the weight room and in the classroom.

20 College Coaches from all divisions. College level skill training. Mental skill development. Recruitment planning. Network building sessions. Full-exposure scrimmage for 2 hours. Written evaluation was emailed afterwards. Technical Abilities = 95/100. Tactical Abilities = 95/100. Physical Abilities = 92/100. Mental Abilities = 95/100. "Taylor is as good as it comes as a setter. She spreads the ball around with purpose and precision. She is also a viable option hitting from the front row as a rightside attacker. Her head as a setter is where it needs to be in thinking of the game."
