Personal Statement

Hi, welcome to my profile! My name is Chevelle Mills and I am a right side hitter. This is the sport that makes my heart race and makes me feel whole. I am very excited for college and look forward to playing volleyball and fulfilling my dreams. I hope to also be a good role model for the younger girls to look up to.  When I was younger I would watch college volleyball in the stands and loved the atmosphere there! I want be a part of that atmosphere that I felt when I was younger!

I have played in about every sport there is.  In elementary school I played basketball for two years and received the MVP of the team award each year. I was in wrestling for two years and played soccer for a year. I was on and off with track but this past year I lettered in throwing events. I have played softball and volleyball since I was in elementary.

I lost my dad before the age of eight so sports played a big role in my healing process. Sports helped me stay positive throughout the challenges. Volleyball has been my #1 love through it all. Since highschool, volleyball has gotten harder and more competitive, but that's the fun thing about it. It's the CHALLENGE!  Throughout these years I have pushed myself as hard as I can to be able to make a difference for myself and my team. I have pushed myself academically as well and I think that makes me different from all these other athletes. What makes me unique from all the other players is how hard I work for my dreams! If my grades drop, I am right on it! If I miss a serve, I will spend all day making it right! If my legs hurt from practice, I will lift until I'm used to the pain! I think that is what makes me different from all the other players you will encounter.

Throughout these years I will keep pushing so I can make my parents, family, friends and teammates proud! I want to push myself to make sure I get to go to a great medical school so I can help people that I care about!

Make my dreams come true! And thank you for reading my long personal statement! I hope you all have a great day, and keep me in mind for who you want on your team!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
