Personal Statement

My name is Avianna “Ava” DeGuzman. I am an OH/RS and DS for the class of 2023. I am a well-rounded six rotation player who loves playing both offense and defense. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. This season I am playing Open level for Topeka Impact 18-1's. Our team has been invited to participate in the 2023 Triple Crown NIT in February.

I am a multi-sport athlete. In addition to varsity volleyball (4 yrs), I play varsity golf (4 yrs), varsity basketball (3 yrs), and varsity softball (3 yrs). Some unique things about me are that I have a 31" vertical and I'm also ranked by Prep Dig Kansas as #16 out of the top 30 C/O 2023 DS/Libero's in Kansas.

I strive for excellence on and off the court. My GPA is a 4.12 and I am very involved in school leadership activities.

In college I hope to find a blend of high level volleyball and academic excellence. I am inspired to pursue sports in college by my Uncle Bobby Lashley who is a former Collegiate/Olympic wrestler and current WWE champion.
