Erin Garr 2021 GJ...Personal Statement
I am in my 5th year of playing club volleyball and I am on the Adidas Dynasty 16-1 team. My goal is to be trained in and learn all positions so that I can become a stronger player and be more prepared when it's time to step up and play collegiately.
I work incredibly hard to become the best player and teammate I can be. I have played middle for three years and I am currently training and working hard to become a great right side hitter. Since freshman year, I have been the starting middle for Bishop Miege High School's Varsity team and this year we took 1st place in the Kansas 4A State Tournament!
It is important to me to find a university where I can play volleyball competitively and major in Biomedical Engineering. I am also considering Chemical Engineering or Biochemistry. I am a person who truly puts student in front of athlete. For example, I am already working to gain experience in my field of study as I had an internship this past summer at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences to help research a cure for Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy.
I also enjoy playing the flute in the school band, working as a sound technician for my church, and tutoring classmates who need extra help.
