McKenzie Hartzog '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is McKenzie Hartzog. After all of my success in high school I recently just finished my freshman year playing volleyball at Cowley Community College where I won the spot as starting libero. This was the first time in my school volleyball experience that I hadn't played all 6 rotations.  I adjusted well and enjoyed attacking from the back row when the opportunity arose.  This past 2012 season we went 38-1 and took SECOND in the NATION at the junior college division two level. After performing a perfect season we couldn't quite pull out that last win!  Even though we didn't win it all we still had a great season hitting a bunch of highs! We won our conference going undefeated and winning districts! At the end of the season I was named 1st team All-conference and 2nd team All- District. I had a great first year of college and I learned many things! One of the biggest was time management; juggling school and sports. My coaches did a great job for us to all be focused on our education first and volleyball second. With this balance we were able to have an amazing season! This coming 2013 season, I expect the same success and more! My team and I always want more, we're never satisfied!

My goal is to continue to play at a program where I can step in and make a difference.  I would like to play defense for a strong offensive team at the DII or DI level.  I am a strong leader and feel I would be a great asset coming in with my experience after playing at a strong, competitive JuCo level. I am a Biology major with a current 3.7 GPA.
