I played both volleyball and soccer in parks and rec leagues until sixth grade, when I had to make a decision: Which sport did I love more? I chose volleyball, because when I dug a ball or served an ace, I felt exhilarated. So I tried out for the seventh grade team and made it as a sixth grader. I've never regretted my decision.
I am starting my junior season as the libero for our varsity team. Over the next two years, I plan to continue my academic success and grow as a volleyball player so that I am prepared to play volleyball at the collegiate level while obtaining a degree. As a player who will do anything I can to keep a ball from hitting the court, I have set a personal goal to break my high school's record for most digs— while helping my teammates win a district and regional title.
Volleyball has been part of my life since my sister began playing when I was two years old. I want to play the sport that I love for as long as I can, not only for my remaining high school career but also in college.
