I started playing volleyball when I was in the sixth grade. At the time, I was very shy and volleyball has really helped me find a place where I belong. I remember my first practice with my high school team. The feeling I got being surrounded by teammates was amazing and I still feel it to this day. When I step on the court, I want them to excel and play to their best ability.
Throughout my highschool career, each year I have moved up a level of playing. In 6th,7th, and 8th grade I was a regular Junior Varsity player and recently my 9th grade year I got moved to play as an outside hitter and defensive specialist on varsity. I hope to continue on with that into my sophomore year.
Not it only has volleyball taught me a lot of lessons it has given me a lot of opportunity’s. I have got to connect with a multitude of people. Not just making friends but having people I can lean on and know they support me.
As a student athlete, I try to maintain my GPA to a 3.7 or above. While I love playing volleyball, academics always comes first. I try to be involved with as many clubs and organizations as possible, Such as Girl Scouts and the Academic Team. In college, I would like to work towards a goal of becoming a physical therapist or a nurse.
