My name is Abigail Waterfill-Bell. I've always been lucky. My family is whole. My parents are loving and are able to provide me with everything I need to be successful. They have been a constant support system throughout all of my volleyball goals. I have played volleyball since I was 10 years old. It has been a huge part of my life. Every time I step on to the court, I feel my heart swell. Volleyball is the love of my life and I would like to continue that for as long as possible, so playing college volleyball would be a dream come true.
A major goal for me is to have a strong bond with my teammates and coaches. I've struggled with making friends since I began school but when I step into the locker room, the travel bus, or on the court, I feel at home. The girls that I play volleyball with have become a second family to me. As my mom says, I spend more time with them than I do at home anyway! Having a strong bond with your teammates not only decides the success of your team, but also your individual success. Coach Emerson, Coach Angie, Coach Jamie, and Coach Black have all been a huge factor in my success, both off the court and on. All of my coaches have supported me as a player and a person, teaching me right from wrong, showing me how to be a good teammate and leader. They have encouraged me and humbled me. They have been there to cheer for me or scold me. Other than my parents, my coaches are the biggest influences in my life and I couldn't ask for anyone better.
Education is something that has always been VERY important to me. Most of my schooling years, I have been an AB Honor Roll student, receiving many awards. I am also very active in many clubs at my school including JROTC, HOSA, Y-Club, Pep Club, Peer Tutoring, FCA, and BETA. I plan on continuing this pattern, hopefully even bettering them.
I have many good qualities that would make me a good asset to many teams. I am humble, but confident. I know that I am a good player, but also know that every player can improve on something. I am a great leader who can influence others positively. I have always been like an older sister to all underclassmen. I have perseverance with a great work ethic. I put 110% in everything I do. I am an honest player and always try to help my teammates and everyone around me. I am very physically fit due to the fact that I ride horses, competing statewide.
I look forward to speaking and meeting with college coaches who show interest in me!
I plan on majoring in Secondary Education with a minor in History at a 4 year college/university. Then, becoming a high school history teacher while also coaching volleyball.
