Autumn Gidcumb '22 Recruiting Profile

It’s life or death! This is my mentality every time the Up Ref blows the whistle. Volleyball has been my LIFE since 5th grade. My drive to win makes me push myself mentally and physically. I started Varsity in 6th grade at a private school in KHSCAA. There I excelled as an outside and DS through my 8th grade year. My freshman year I transferred to BCHS in KHSAA. There I broke the all time serving  record in a game with 25, season 211, most aces in a game with 3 in one year. Sophomore year was no disappointment either. I broke ALL my records from the previous year adding most serves in a. Career. We got 3rd at Regionals. I also made all season and all tournament team for the second year in a row. I thrive on my team mates and coaches pushing me to help untainted my goal. 

This year after researching careers and my life after high school I can’t imagine not playing volleyball in college. My career choice in public relations goes hand and hand with my volleyball career. Your image is important in the public eye on the court off the court and in your career to be a success. 

I grew up in a house full of kids! Two sisters and a brother-conflict resolution is a must. My parents have owned their own business since I was 5. We were taught responsibility, multitasking,hard work and above all unconditional love. I am very active in our church and community. I volunteer at the local soup kitchen, in picking up trash around the county and assisting the elderly with daily tasks. 

Outside Everybody Outside! Hunting fishing and living everyday is my life. Playing in the snow with my family in the winter, four wheeler riding muddy trails from April showers, almost dying tubing on the lake (thanks Dad) in the summer and harvesting a deer on a crisp fall morning to name a few memories I have. Add in countless hours of volleyball conditioning-games-practice that friend equals a perfect life.
