My name is Carlie Horton and I am from Opelousas, Louisiana. I first picked a volleyball when I was about 8 years old and immediately fell in love with it. I am a 5’9 defensive specialist and outside hitter. I continuously work hard on and off the court and enjoy pushing myself to become better in all aspect, not just as an athlete. I have started for my high school varsity team since 8th grade and helped lead my team to the state championship game my senior year. My teammates and coaches have really helped me become the player I am today. I have played club volleyball for 6 years and competed in some of the biggest tournaments in the nation, even winning the Houston Cross Court Classic (13), NOLA Blastoff (14), and a tournament in Mandeville, LA (17). I am a member of National Honors Society, placed at State Literary Rally in Biology II, and received the All-Academic award. I have made it a goal of mine to maintain a 4.0 throughout my high school career and I am proud to say that I accomplished that goal. After graduation, my goal is to continue my volleyball career while studying to become a pediatric dentist.
