My name is Ariel Nelson, I am a 2026 setter playing for Intensity Volleyball Club in Harford County, MD. I am currently attending Harford Christian School.
I have many priorities when it comes to what I look for in a college. Going to a 4 year school that is somewhat closer to home is ideal. I look for a very competitive team that will push me to be a better player and student. My academics will always be extremely important to me and a priority over my athletics. I hope to major in physical therapy or exercise science. Most of all, my number one priority is to honor God whether it’s in the classroom or on the court.
I believe that I am able to bring key aspects onto any team. Communication, coachability, focus, and work ethic are major characteristics I lead a team with. Most of all, work ethic is the biggest requirement for me on a volleyball team. Striving for perfection during games or practice is always crucial. I spend my time not only on the court but in the gym training for strength and agility. When it comes to my academics I am organized and I always manage my time wisely. I have always focused on my grades, and mainly achieved A’s with occasional B’s.
I could not be more grateful for volleyball and the blessing it has been to me and so many others. I started playing volleyball at nine years old and have never stopped since. I play volleyball year-round: during my highschool season, club season, and beach volleyball in the summer. Watching volleyball grow as a sport and watching women’s sports grow in general warms my heart. Coaching volleyball for younger kids and to help anyone playing volleyball is such an amazing privilege. To help others feel the joy that I feel for volleyball is a big goal of mine. Extending my volleyball career to the collegiate level has been a dream of mine ever since I started playing. With all that being said, my ultimate goal is to glorify God in all that I do on and off of the court.
